USAFA Performance for Cadets-Bettina Bush- 21May2008

A heads-up that my daughter, Bettina(www.BettinaMusic.com), will be performing for the Cadet Wing on 21May. Bettina expressed an interest in doing a Benefit Concert at USAFA, with proceeds going to minority Cadet recruitment. Working with Alfredo Sandoval '82(Native American) and Joseph Calderon '84(African-American), USAFRes LtCol ALO's, they contacted USAFA Booking. Booking could not schedule the event but Candyce, the agent, has confirmed booking Bettina for a Cadet Festival scheduled in the late afternoon and evening of 21May, in the Spirit Hill area.

When queried as to why this performance was special to her, this was Bettina's response:

"I am so honored to be performing at the US Air Force Academy. This particular concert holds special meaning to me as my father, Charles V. Bush, was one of the first African-Americans to attend the Academy back in the sixties. This opportunity opened many
doors for my dad and my family, and set an example for generations to come. The strong ethical base and commitment that has brought me success in my own life is a testament to the man my dad became through his experiences and education - and a little help from my
mom.
The legacy of the Pathfinders is something I have always held with great pride, and being invited to perform for the cadets at the Academy will be a truly special moment in my life."

Thought I would share this with you, from a proud father. By the way, for the third year, I will be at USAFA, 28Apr-1May, for a series of lectures in Strategic Management.
